After a jury ordered 50 cent to pay 3.2 million for a sex tape, he files bankruptcy and has become involved in other interest. He wears many hats like being a film writer, author, fashion, property entrepreneur and acting. Will 50 cent bid farewell to the gangster rap? Is he losing interest in the rap business? That is yet to be known because 50 cent is a very private person. 50 cent are a private person because he believes if people share too much they often lose themselves in the entertaining industry.

Also, people lose themselves because they become compulsive with charming the public through entertainment that they offer everything that they have, even down to the public knowing them inside and out. Some even allow the public to take a look inside their home through reality television. 50 cent feel there's got to be a line you should draw and not allow anyone to cross, a place where you stop, and you live away from entertainment.

However, he said, “I still have a passion for music.” Will 50 Cent bid farewell to the gangster-rapper industry? 50 cent chooses to reveal little about what his plan is for years to come. However, he did say, "Um... I don't really have much of a personal life to offer."

Curtis James Jackson aka 50 Cent growing up in New York

Personally, I am a big fan of 50 cent. I love reading about 50 cent the man of many words as well as the wacky crazy things that he does in life. The thing that makes me love 50 cent so much is that he takes what he wants from life. It is no secret that he had a rough life growing up in New York. 50 cent lost his mother at the age of eight to a life of drugs and crime then, his grandparents raised him.

While 50 Cent acquired his name from Brooklyn well-known outlaw Kelvin “50 Cent” Martin, but the very first 50 Cent was a tough hoodlum from Fort Greene, Brooklyn. According to Datwon Thomas, Vibe Editor-in-Chief, “50 knew exactly what he was doing when he took on the name 50 cent.” Kelvin “50 Cent” Martin died in 1987. Afterward 50 took on his tough-guy swagger. If the truth is told, 50’s gun down was connected with his 2000 song “Ghetto Qu’ran because it called out a local drug boss’s criminal heroic act.

Nonetheless, 50 did not allow the pain caused by the death of his mom to stop him. He used this as his inspiration and strived to reach his dream. Curtis James Jackson “50 cent” was born in New York on July 6, 1975. At a very young age, 50 refused to live in poverty and allowed life to assume him.

Transgression into the Hip-Hop World

50 began drug dealing in the 1980s when he was twelve but grew tired of the thug life that dealt with crime, drugs, and violence. He decided to leave this life and begin a career in rapping. He took it upon himself to hit the scene in 1999 with “How to Rob”. Shortly after leaving his old life, 50 was shot nine times.

50 Cent's first introduction to the hip-hop world was a member of the group Run-D.M.C who was captivated with 50 Cent's rapping capabilities. Jam Master Jay produced an album for 50 that was never released. This album was the “Power of the Dollar” was never released due to heavily bootlegging, and Trackmasters were cutting all ties with him because they did not like 50 cent because of his dark past.

However, he was still destined to be great. He did not allow being released from Trackmasters to stop him from achieving fame. He showed love to Trackmasters on J-Lo's album when he produced the remixed "I am Gonna Be Alright". Producing this remix changed 50 cent’s life. In 2002, 50 released an album named “Guess Who's Back”.

In 2003, 50 released the album "Get Rich or Die Tryin'”. He also signed with Eminem's label Shady/Aftermath in which he and Dr. Dre produced. Get Rich or Die Tryin' has sold over 15 million copies and RIAA-certified as eight times platinum. In 2005, he released “The Massacre”. It sold 11 million copies worldwide and RIAA-certified as five times platinum. 50 cent’s career grew non-stop since.

Financial Successes and Problems

The question is “How does someone so creative and productive end up bankrupt?” Well, there are many different answers to that question. I’d like to start by saying that he is human and reckless behavior will destroy anything. 50 cent has accomplished many successes in life. The Vitamin water was a significant investment earning 50 over $100 million dollars.

50 found success in the SMS Audio headphones line that landed him a role in films like Escape Plan in 2013, in 2015 Spy and Southpaw. His highest selling album, “The Massacre (2005) sold over 1,140,000 the first week. It was list as number 21 on the fifty top rap album and his album “Get Rich or Die Tryin” (2003) sold over 9000,000 the first week and list as number ten.

According to 50 cent’s documents of bankruptcy, he had a monthly cost of $3000 for apparel and $1,000 for grooming. Wow, it was expensive for 50 to look good daily. 50 was living a very expensive life; he even spent $72,000 a month for his 50-room Connecticut mansion.

Also, his monthly expenses include pool maintenance of $1500, $5000 for gardening and $9000 for security. Child support cost 50 $14,600, and payment for luxury cars was most of his money went. The items listed above were the bulk of his spending poor habits.

Although things might not be the way 50 cent want it to be he has established a pretty good rap career, and he is a part of the hip-hop culture. After all, he still has a passion for music, and I look forward to seeing more from him behind the scene. The way thing looks 50 cent will not bid farewell to the gangster-rap business.
